A selection from the Cardinal Collection Archives

For its second exhibition, the Cardinal Collection Gallery has taken a deep dive into its archives to explore and share with the public a selection of books that challenge the traditional format of the book itself.

The books on display focus on innovative formats / bindings / material forms (ranging from pharmaceutical packaging to artificial turf).

With this exhibition, Cardinal Collection aims to show the diversity and dynamism of contemporary artistic publishing. This exhibition recalls that a book, and more specially an artists’ book, is an art piece.

Cesar van Pinsett, director of the Cardinal Collection, is a photographer, self-publishing artist, and curator originally from Amsterdam and currently lives in Lisbon. After ten years in Paris, he established the Cardinal Collection to showcase his passion for artists’ books and independent publishing.

Finissage Dec. 13th at 5 pm with a presentation by Cesar van Pinsett.
