"We Unearthed a Sextape in the Marshes..." approaches the archive as a site of creative inquiry. Following in the footsteps of philosopher Paul B. Preciado in Bourges, the exhibition seeks out buried LGBTQIA+ memories. In response to the invisibilization and repression of non-heteronormative identities that have shaped official memory, the exhibition highlights the potential that emerges from fragments, absences, and in-between spaces. Here, the archive is not invoked as a fixed historical record of a bygone past; rather, it calls for acts of activation that transform it into a living material for the present."
Many thanks to Simon Renders for his invaluable help within Cardinal Collection, as well as to Sandra Delacourt, Andreas Maria Fohr, Frédéric Herbin and Fred Morin for the invitation.
